Meet your 2025 Captains

Alexis Reid

Bio Coming Soon

Cat Ladouceur

Meet Cat, a seasoned player whose love for the game knows no bounds. With five seasons under her belt, Cat is now entering her third season as Captain, leading the charge with passion and dedication.

In Cat's own words, "It's good to be green." This mantra encapsulates her philosophy of fostering an environment where players can grow, learn, and enjoy every moment on the field. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a rookie eager to learn the ropes, Cat is here to ensure that each player experiences the sheer delight that comes with playing softball.

Christine Anderson

I have been in the league for 27 years and a captain for 15. I love this league because of the community.

These are the most amazing group of ladies that have become my family. When you need support, they are there!

I am from a small country village in New Brunswick but I now call Ottawa my home. I am married with 4 children and 3 grandchildren. I work full-time and love to snowmobile in the winter, and play ball in the summer! Life can't get any better than that!

Cheers, Christine

Hayley Bennett

Hayley Bennett is excited to begin her 4th year with the Glen Cairn Ladies Softball League (GCLSL) and serve as a first-time captain. With a history of playing at competitive levels, including senior women’s softball in Ontario and at the varsity level with both Western University and the University of Toronto, Hayley has always been the teammate who focuses on supporting others, regardless of the score.

Known for her positivity, energy, and constant encouragement, Hayley is often the loudest cheerleader on and off the field. Whether she’s playing or leading, her priority is building strong, supportive connections within the team.

As a mom of four and with a background in psychological health and safety, leadership, and wellness, she’s committed to creating a fun and empowering environment where everyone feels valued and part of the team. Hayley is thrilled to serve as captain this year, bringing her passion for teamwork and community to the league, and looks forward to a season of camaraderie and growth!

Katie Flansbury

Katie is a passionate and dedicated athlete, currently in her first year as a captain. With a love for the sport that began at the age of six, Katie has been playing softball for over 26 years, showcasing her commitment and enthusiasm for the game.

Since joining the league in 2012, she has earned a reputation as a competitive player who values teamwork and camaraderie. As captain, Katie aims to foster a fun and supportive environment while maintaining a strong competitive spirit.

In addition to her dedication to softball, Katie is also a devoted animal lover and works as a veterinary technician. Her passion for helping animals reflects her compassionate nature and commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of both pets and their owners.

Outside of softball, she enjoys other sports such as football and basketball and is always looking for ways to inspire others through her love of the game.

Mandy Moskal

Captain | Softball Enthusiast | Kitchen Designer

Mandy Moskal brings over 10 years of experience to the league and is excited to step into her first season as a captain, where she is eager to apply her leadership skills both on and off the field. A lifelong lover of softball, Mandy first picked up a bat at the age of 8 and began her journey as a pitcher in Saskatchewan. After moving to Kanata in 1993, she joined the Pirates, where she played for many years before continuing her softball journey at Alabama A&M alongside her childhood catcher, who also plays in the league.

After university and a 10-year hiatus from playing, Mandy rejoined the league with a renewed passion for the game. Now, as a captain, she is committed to fostering teamwork and guiding her team to success. Mandy is also a proud mother to her wonderful son, Thomas, who has been cheering her on since he was just 3 months old.

Professionally, Mandy works as a Kitchen Designer for Spectrum Kitchen and Bath in Kanata, where she brings her love of design and creativity to life. In her free time, she enjoys boating, hockey, and interior decorating, always seeking to inspire others with her talent for transforming spaces and helping people’s visions come to life.

Steph Wilson

Hello ladies! My name is Steph Wilson but you can call me Willy! I’ve been a captain in the league for two years.

Although I’m relatively new to captaining, I’m certainly not new to the league. I’ve been around since 1985 when my mom joined the league and I was just a little pup! Since 1985, I have spent many days hanging around the same ball diamonds that we play at today.

I joined the league as soon as I was old enough and I spent many years playing on the same team as my mom when she was a captain. I like to have my feet in the grass on defence and I can often be found eating an ice cream bar or a McD’s cheeseburger in the outfield between plays!

The most important thing for me is that my team has fun, although winning is great too! I have advice to share and will listen when needed. I love seeing new players join and creating new friendships every year. I have 2 young kids and I hope that someday I can play in this same league, on these same diamonds with my daughter… and maybe my mom too if I’m lucky!

Taylor Albert

I have played in the GCLSL for 11 years, and I am a first-time captain for the 2024 season. I grew up alongside the ball diamond right out of the womb as I watched my mom play and captain my whole life.

Once I turned 18, I was excited to join, and I have loved playing in this league ever since. I never competitively played softball. I spent my life at the rink playing competitive hockey.

Since my mom was a pitcher, she encouraged (told...) me to start catching, and I am happy she did because it's a great position for me.

I am looking forward to leading a team this year, and hopefully, my experience in coaching and leading in other sports will pay off in my first season as captain!
